Introduction to Christian Apologetics: Why Defend My Faith?
In lesson one, you’ll answer the questions, “What is Christian Apologetics?” and “Why Defend My Faith?” Your class will breakdown stereotypes and learn that we can defend the faith without getting defensive, argue without being argumentative, and speak the truth in love. By the end of the lesson, they’ll see how apologetics fits into their personal discipleship to Jesus.
You’ll have fun using a ping pong paddle or ping pong balls to help people remember how Jesus and his disciples gave people reasons to believe. A discussion section allows small groups to analyze “Christian” objections to apologetics like, “People don’t come to faith in Christ through apologetics” and “Just preach the Word because it won’t return void.”
This lesson is part of a series focused on increasing the confidence of Christians by exploring reasons and evidences for the faith, and preparing each student to be a more effective ambassador of Jesus.
